Dorothy “Dottie” Louise Whiteman, 84, of Wallace, passed away on Sunday, March 9, 2025 in Bridgeport surrounded by her loved ones. She was born in Clarksburg on April 15, 1940 a daughter of the late Basil Heater and Bessie Queen Heater.
She was preceded in death by her husband Raymond Whiteman and also her longtime companion William McQuaid.
She is survived by her two grandchildren, Tonya Shaw and husband Steven, and John Riddle, all of Wallace; one great grandson who she dearly loved, Leland Shaw.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by her daughter, Kimberly Mace; two sisters, Beulah Stanton and Pauline Dye and one brother, Ray “Son” Heater.
Dottie raised her grandchildren after the sudden passing of her daughter in 2000. She took pride in being able to take care of them and made sure they didn’t want for anything. Dottie enjoyed being outdoors, especially taking care of her yard and gardening. She also enjoyed spending as much time as she could with her great grandson Leland as possible and her many friends. She also liked riding in the side by side with her grandson John.
In keeping with her wishes, she will be cremated. Online condolences may be sent to www.DavisFuneralHomeWV.com. Davis Funeral Home is honored to assist the Whiteman family.
