Dorothy Lucille (Powell) Chipps

Dorothy Lucille Powell Chipps, 82, of Clarksburg, WV passed away on Thursday, April 28, 2022 at Clarksburg Nursing and Rehabilitation. She was born on March 3, 1940 in Clarksburg, WV, the daughter of the late Harold Lawrence Powell and Zella Watson Aleshire.

Dorothy was a bookkeeper in Clarksburg and spend the last half of her life being a homemaker. She is a collector of Roosters, loved all animals, especially her dogs and cats. Her life revolved around her family, spending time with them and babysitting the grandchildren. She was a member of Cascara United Methodist Church.

Dorothy is survived by her husband of forty three years and love of her life, Stanley Lewis Chipps whom she married on June 9, 1979; one son, David Wiltse and wife Diana, Clarksburg; three grandchildren, David K Wiltse II and Jessica, Kristen Wiltse and Kendra, Olivia Wiltse and Thomas; one great grandson, David K Wiltse III; three stepchildren; five step grandchildren and two step great grandchildren;  several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Dorothy was preceded in death by siblings, Kathryn Rockwood, Francis Powell and Tommy Powell and one brother in infancy.
