Donald "Don" Lee Harvey

Donald Lee “Don” Harvey, 78, of Clarksburg, passed away at his home on Tuesday, July 15, 2025 in Clarksburg.  He was born on September 24, 1946 in Clarksburg, a son of the late Delbert “Pete” Harvey and Mary McNemar Harvey.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Nancy Hersman Harvey whom he married on September 5, 1970.

He is also survived by two children, Jennifer Hogue and husband Curt of Bridgeport and Matthew Harvey and wife Beth of Fuquay Varina, NC; seven grandchildren, Lauren Schooley and husband Trace, Andrew Hogue, and Sydney Hogue, Gwynn, Coleson, Ava and Jackson Harvey; two siblings, Pat West and husband Lee and David Harvey and wife Paula; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his sister, Debbie Rexroad and brother, Jeff Harvey; and his father and mother-in-law, Bill and Laura Hersman

Don was a graduate of Washington Irving High School; class of 1964 and he was employed as a machinist with Union Carbide for many years. 

Don was a quiet soul with a warm heart, known for his love of the outdoors and deep devotion to his family. He found joy in fishing, hunting, camping, and boating as he was always happiest when surrounded by nature. One of his greatest pleasures was cheering on his grandchildren at their events, a proud and steady presence in their activities.  Soft-spoken but full of personality, Don was known for his ornery sense of humor and his loving nature. He had a way of making people feel cared for without needing many words, and his presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Family will receive friends at the Davis Funeral Home, 124 Olen Thomas Dr. Rt. 98, Clarksburg on Friday, July 18, 2025 from 3:00 PM - 8:00 PM and 10:00 AM until funeral services held on Saturday, July 19, 2025 at 11:00 AM with Reverend Tim Kelley presiding.  Interment will be in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens.   Online condolences can be made at DavisFuneralHomeWV.com.
