Devin Nathaniel Tate, 28, of Clarksburg, passed away on Monday, July 28, 2025.
He was born on April 25, 1997, in Clarksburg, a beloved son of Russell David Tate II of Mannington and Melissa Ann Allen Tate of Clarksburg.
Devin was a 2015 graduate of Lincoln High School. Following graduation, he proudly served his country in the United States Army and was actively serving in the United States Army Reserve at the time of his passing. In addition to his military service, Devin worked as a security guard at United Hospital Center.
A passionate gamer and firearm enthusiast, Devin enjoyed trips to the gun range and spending meaningful time with his family.
In addition to his parents, Devin is survived by three siblings: Davina Marie Tate of Clarksburg, David Michael Tate and wife Dawn of Shinnston, and Davin Matthew Tate of Mannington; his maternal grandmother, Charlotte Ann Sears Griffith and husband James “Jim” of Rivesville; aunts and uncles, Kenneth Andrew Tate (Michelle Minutelli) of Fairmont, Joseph Daniel Tate (Sara) of Jordan, MT, and Ronald Lee Allen Jr. of Spelter; and several cousins.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Russell David Tate I and Donna Marie Phillips Tate, and his maternal grandfather, Ronald “Tex” Lee Allen Sr.
Visitation will be held at Davis Funeral Home, 124 Olen Thomas Drive, Clarksburg, on Thursday, July 31, 2025, from 3 PM to 7 PM. A Graveside Service will be held at the West Virginia National Cemetery on Friday, August 1, 2025 at 11:00 AM with full military honors to be provided by the Harrison County Honor Guard and U.S. Army Honor Guard
