Delbert Lee Britton, 72, of Summit Park, West Virginia, passed away peacefully at his residence on Tuesday, March 31, 2026.
He was born on October 7, 1953, the son of the late Earl Clifton and Mary Louise (Frazier) Britton.
In addition to his parents, Delbert was preceded in death by his brother, Clifton Earl Britton, and his sister, Mary Catherine Satterfield. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
He is survived by his aunt, Rhonda Frazier; his sister-in-law, Becky Britton; his brother-in-law, Thomas Satterfield; his nephews, Andrew Britton, Joshua Shingleton, and Brad (Maggie) Shingleton; and his nieces, Amanda (Fred) Eakles, Christina Britton, and Cassandra (Cory) Caton.
Delbert was the first graduating class of Liberty High School. He began his career at St. Mary’s Hospital and later continued his work at United Hospital Center, where he dedicated 40 years of service before retiring. He was formerly a member of the Summit Park Volunteer Fire Department and a member of Summit Park Baptist Church. He especially enjoyed singing in the choir and sharing his love for old hymns. Above all, Delbert loved his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
He found joy in the simple pleasures of life, including trips to Home Industry Bakery for pepperoni rolls and donuts. He also enjoyed riding the Centra bus and was known for his friendly nature—he never met a stranger.He was also an avid CB user under the handle Rainmaker.
Family and friends will be received at Davis Funeral Home, 124 Olen Thomas Drive (Route 98), Clarksburg, on Tuesday, April 7, 2026, from 3:00 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 6:30 p.m with Heather Whetsell officiating.
