Dayton Walter Ables, 55 of Lost Creek, passed away on Wednesday, January 17, 2024 at the United Hospital Center. He was born February 29, 1968, in Clarksburg, WV, the son of the late Dayton Woodson and Judith Marie Cane Ables.
Dayton worked as a roofer for Griffith Roofing. He was a jack of all trades and was known for his handy work in carpentry and as a mechanic. He loved his family and spending time with them, especially his grandchildren. He also enjoyed camping and fishing.
Dayton is survived by his four children, Dayton Ables Jr. and Faye Carroll of Lost Creek, Zack Ables of Clarksburg, Joey Fluharty of Elkins and Sheana Greaver of Lost Creek; several grandchildren; siblings, Michael Ables of Lost creek, Mary Ables and Andy Gould of Lost Creek and son Andrew, Loretta Gould of Buckhannon and Judith McElray of Detroit, MI; special friend, Laura Cottrill of Lost Creek; numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Dayton is preceded in death by his brothers, Harley Ables and Michael Ables; and one sister, Melissa Ables.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to his funeral care fund on his memorial page.
Family will receive friends at Davis Funeral Home, 124 Olen Thomas Drive, Clarksburg, WV 26301, for visitation on Saturday, January 27, 2024 from 10:00AM until the time of the Funeral Service at 1:00PM with Pastor David Jesse officiating.
