David Wayne Wood a dedicated mechanic and passionate drag racing enthusiast, passed away on January 23, 2025, at his home in Wheeling, West Virginia. He was 69 years old. He was born on September 18, 1955, a son of the late William and Betty Wood from Millville, Delaware.
David was the devoted husband of the late Cheryl Lucille Wood who passed away on April 16, 2016.
His memory lives on through his two sons, David Wayne Wood Jr. and wife Jamie of McConnellsburg, Pennsylvania, and Daniel Wayne Wood and wife Megan of Nutter Fort, along with his four grandchildren: Maddix Joseph Wood, Braxton William Wood, Tyler Jonathan Wood and Devon James Wood. Throughout his life, David was known for his exceptional skill in automotive repair, spending countless hours perfecting his craft. His dedication to his work was matched only by his love for drag racing, a sport that brought him joy and adrenaline. The roar of engines and the thrill of competition filled his heart with excitement, serving as a cherished escape from the everyday grind of life.
