David Corsini Obituary

David L. Corsini, 88 of Clarksburg passed away on Tuesday, June 01, 2021 at Stonerise of Bridgeport with family by his side.

David was born June 10th, 1932 in Fairmont WV and moved to Clarksburg at six months.  He was the son of the late Rev. Richard L. and Anna Somjak Corsini.  He is survived by a brother Timothy Edgar Corsini and wife, Naomi, Greenville, SC., one sister, Priscilla Corsini Hall and husband, David, Wheaton Ill.  He was preceded in death by three sisters, Dorothy Corsini Pappas, Silver Springs, MD, Anne Corsini Pelletreau, Warren OH and Ruth Corsini Sharon, Chevy Chase, MD and a brother Richard L. Corsini II, Williamsville, NY.

He is survived by his loving wife of 70 years, Jacqueline, sons, David (Chip) and wife Robin, Clarksburg and Kevin and wife Jodi, Fairfax Station, VA.  He had three granddaughters, Anna Lee Corsini. Catherine Lynn Corsini and Emily Lynn Corsini. Two great grandsons, Anthony James Michael Corsini and Ezra Lee Boone and one great granddaughter, Gia Rosalee Corsini. Two grandsons, Matthew Boone and Michael Boone (Amanda). He was preceded in death by one grandson, Lee Edward Corsini. He loved and adored all his grandchildren and followed them thru the years during all their activities.

He graduated from Washington Irving High School.  He was All State in basketball and was captain of the football team.  He was also on the varsity track team for four years. Graduated Cum Laude from Salem College with a B.S. degree in Business Administration and Education where he was represented in the 1956-1957 edition of Who’s Who in American Colleges and Universities.  Member of the All- Conference basketball team. Member of the West Virginia Conference All Time Basketball Team.  He served on the Student Council, was on the Dean’s List, tennis team and President of the Sophomore class. Inducted into Salem University Hall of Fame in 2019 and is listed as one of the all-time leading scorers.

Retired from Bank One, formerly The Union National Bank as Senior Vice President. He graduated from The West Virginia School of Banking, the Consumer School of Banking at the University of Chicago, The American Institute of Principles of Banking, The West Virginia School of Analyzing Financial Statements and attended many consumer workshops. 

Former member of the Clarksburg Kiwanis Club, Clarksburg Zoning and Planning, Treasurer and on the Board of the Clarksburg-Harrison Cultural Foundation, Charter Member and President of the Washington Irving Boosters Club, Charter Member and on the Board of Directors of the Clarksburg Athletic Association.

He was Little League Baseball Manager for six years and coached in the Patrol Basketball League for three years.

Served in the U. S. Army for two years and was in Korea during that conflict. He was a MVP basketball player in the Armed Forces League while serving in Korea.

Member of The First Presbyterian Church and had served several years as Trustee, member of Session and Usher.

Avid golfer and was a member of the Sunny Croft Country Club and Clarksburg Country Club having had 5 holes-in-one.  Always enjoyed golfing trips with other couples and spending time at the beach. After retirement he and Jackie spent two months every year for 13 years in Destin Florida.

Loved his family dearly.

A Celebration of Life will be held at First Presbyterian Church, 175 W Main St, Clarksburg, WV 26301, on Saturday, June 26, 2021 at 3:00 PM  with Pastor John F Koerner officiating.
