Daniel Lee Barnes, 63, of Clarksburg, passed away on Wednesday, April 7, 2021, at his residence surrounded by his loving family, after a short battle with cancer. He was born on October 14, 1957 in Clarksburg, the son of the late William S and Gladys Bell Price Barnes.
Daniel was a 1976 graduate from Washington Irving High School in Clarksburg. He was an outside sales representative at Air-Gas for over forty-one years. Daniel often enjoyed staying in the family’s cabin at Audra State Park. He loved being outdoors and regularly planted a garden. He was a wonderful father to his daughters. During their school years, he would often attend their softball games and practices.
Daniel is survived by his loving wife of almost forty years, Cynthia “Cindi” Louise Barnes; two daughters, Lyndsie Marie Barnes, Morgantown, and Megan Danielle Barnes, Clarksburg; as well as one brother, William R. Barnes, Clarksburg; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Benjamin Lowther and Lindsey, Clarksburg, Marty Lowther and Dawn, Minnesota; fur grandbabies he dearly loved; several nieces, nephews and close friends.
In addition to his parents, Daniel was preceded in death by one brother, James E. Barnes; and sisters-in-law, Carol Barnes and Pamela Lowther.
Family will receive friends at Davis Funeral Home, 124 Olen Thomas Drive, Clarksburg, WV 26301, on Sunday, April 11, 2021 from 12:00PM-6:00PM. A funeral service will be held at Davis Funeral Home on Monday, April 12, 2021 at 11:00AM with Evangelist David Jacobs officiating. Interment will follow at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens in Mount Clare. Davis Funeral Home handled the arrangements for the Barnes Family.
