Cory Shawn Geiger, 39, of Clarksburg, passed away on Tuesday, June 30, 2026, at Marietta Memorial Hospital.
He was born on September 29, 1986, in Clarksburg, the beloved son of Shawn Edward Geiger and Jennifer Pat Thompson Geiger.
Cory was a 2006 graduate of Robert C. Byrd High School and was employed by the State of West Virginia in maintenance. A man who loved working with his hands, Cory could often be found building something, repairing vehicles, or admiring classic and custom cars. He took great pride in figuring out how things worked and was happiest when he was creating, fixing, or lending a helping hand.
More than anything, Cory will be remembered for the joy he brought to those around him. He had a one-of-a-kind sense of humor and an infectious personality that could brighten even the hardest day. Always joking, teasing, and finding ways to make others laugh, Cory never met a stranger. His welcoming spirit and genuine kindness allowed him to make friends wherever he went, and his laughter will forever echo in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
Above all, Cory was a devoted husband, a proud father, and a family man. His greatest accomplishments were not the things he built with his hands, but the life he built with his family. He treasured every moment spent with his wife and children, whether they were sharing everyday moments, making memories together, or simply enjoying each other's company. The love he had for his family was unwavering, and they were truly the center of his world.
In addition to his parents, Cory is survived by his loving wife of 18 years, Diana Marie Martin Geiger, whom he married on May 10, 2008; his cherished children, Taylor Brooke Geiger and Carter Quinn Geiger; his brother, Evan Quinn Geiger and wife Katie of Jane Lew; his nieces and nephew, Emberlee Geiger, Valerie Geiger, and Beau Geiger, his mother in law Jullee Holley, two aunts; Erin Ujhelyi of Grafton, four uncles; Kerry Thompson of Clarksburg, Patrick Geiger of Bridgeport, Kevin Geiger of GA, William Anderson of South Carolina; as well as several additional nieces, nephews, extended family members, and many dear friends who will miss his laughter, kindness, and larger-than-life personality.
Cory was preceded in death by his uncle Mike Geiger, one aunt Charlene Geiger.
Family and friends will be received at Davis Funeral Home, 124 Olen Thomas Drive, Clarksburg, WV, on Monday July 6 2026 from 3:00 p.m. until the time of the Celebration of Life Service at 6:00 p.m., with Pastor Donna Taylor officiating.
