Corey Steven Snider

Corey Steven Snider, 43, left his earthly life early in the morning of Saturday, June 11, 2022 as a result of an unfathomable act of violence. He was born on June 25, 1978 in Fairmont WV, the son of Denise (Dede) Rader Kelly and Richard Steven Snider.

Corey was a big man with a heart to match. He was outgoing and made friends easily from the time he was old enough to walk and talk.  As young as four, family camping trips meant that he would wander to the next campsite while the tent was being set up and return in minutes to introduce his newest friend.  

He was a creative and resourceful person, there were not many things that he couldn’t do - from mechanics to construction/building and much more. He dove into multiple employment options in his adult life including roofing, working high steel, and even spent a summer traveling WV with a carnival. He eventually settled on obtaining his CDL license and enjoyed driving truck and operating heavy equipment locally for several companies.

One of Corey’s greatest pleasures was his ‘wind therapy’, riding a Harley on WV country roads with good friends.

But above all else was his love for his son Gavin, whom he constantly referred to as “My Legacy”.

He is survived by his mother, Dede Rader Kelly, Bridgeport WV; his sister Jennifer Kelly, Clarksburg WV; niece Arianna Viglianco, Bridgeport WV; an uncle, Brad Twigg, Linn WV and Brad’s children Braden Twigg, Florida and Kinley Twigg, Linn WV; his adored son Gavin Snider and Gavin’s mother Myriah Jenkins, Anmoore WV; step-grandfather Robert Twigg, Bridgeport WV; and his father Richard Steven Snider, Clarksburg WV.

Corey was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Delores (Dottie) Twigg and Robert Rader; paternal grandparents Jack and Golda Snider; infant nephew Asher Peck; his mothers’ life partner Max Corley II who helped raise him from the age of 9; and his companion of several years, Chasity Romeo

The family has chosen cremation and a Private Memorial Service to be held at a later date.
