Colleen Beth Coughlin, 72, of Clarksburg, was a caring mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend. Colleen passed away at home on Friday, January 12, 2024. She was born on April 26, 1951, a daughter of the late Hugh Earland Smith and Kathleen Phillips Smith Morgan.
She is survived by her daughter, Casie Justice and her husband Garin of Dallas, TX; and one granddaughter, the light of her life, Juliet Justice.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her beloved sister, Julie Ann Smith; and two brothers, John Smith and Jeffrey Smith.
Colleen touched many lives in her 43 years teaching at Washington Irving High School and Robert C. Byrd High School, until retiring in 2016. Her colleagues remember her as a kind soul, always willing to help when needed. She received her bachelor’s degree and two master’s degrees from West Virginia University.
In her prime, Colleen was a skilled seamstress, a wonderful cook, and knew how to bring the magic to holidays and parties. She enjoyed visiting friends and shopping in Pittsburgh. Later in life, she found pleasure in spending time with loved ones, watching Hallmark movies, and enjoying absolutely everything about her granddaughter.
Colleen never wanted to be the center of attention so, a private service will be held at Davis Funeral Home on Friday, January 19, 2024 at 11:00 AM. A procession to Sunset Memorial Park will immediately follow. Condolences may be sent to www.DavisFuneralHomeWV.com. Davis Funeral Home is honored to serve the Coughlin family.
