Cody James Wright

Cody James Wright, 28, of Clarksburg, passed away on Friday, July 18, 2025 unexpectedly in Clarksburg.  He was born on October 21, 1996 in Clarksburg a son of Bryan Wright, Sr. and Patricia Stump Wright of Clarksburg.

He is survived by his son, Maddox Wright Runion of Clay County; brothers and sisters, Stephanie Schau and her husband Chad of Clarksburg and Bryan Wright and wife Mercedes of Wallace; and several nephews and his loving companion Jennifer Fury.

He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Carolyn Wright and his maternal grandparents, James and Suzie Stump.

Cody was employed with Standard Extermination and most recently Sutter Roofing.  Cody was a free spirit with a huge heart, known for his love of motorcycles, the outdoors, and the people around him. He especially cherished time spent with his son and nephews and could often be found camping under the stars or planning his next adventure.  Always the jokester, Cody brought laughter everywhere he went. Whether he was pulling pranks or making someone smile, his outgoing nature and quick wit left a lasting impression. But beneath the humor was a deeply loyal and kind soul as he was always willing to lend a hand, always there when you needed him.  He will be remembered for his generosity, his big laugh, and the way he lived life to the fullest.
