Clifford "Cliff" Miner, Sr.

Clifford “Cliff” Miner, Sr., 91 of Philippi passed away on Friday, Feb 14, 2020 at his daughter’s home where he resided for the past two years. Cliff was born Sept 10, 1928 in Philippi, son of the late Samuel and Mary Newman Miner. Cliff was united in marriage on Sept 25, 1954 to Coleen Miner who preceded him in death on March 3, 2000.  Cliff worked many years in the coal mines until he retired in 1993. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, being outdoors and watching westerns. Cliff was the last immediate surviving member of his family. Cliff is survived by one son, Clifford Junior Miner and wife Donna, Union Community; one daughter, Patricia Kennedy and husband Teddy, Arden Community; six grandchildren, Crystal Jack and husband Brian, Greg Kennedy and fiancée Nicole Costilow, Elizabeth Queen and husband Dan, Joe Miner and wife Heather, Dustin Miner and Kaleb Kennedy; ten great grandchildren, Janessa Jack, Jordanna Harper and husband Aaron, Stephanie and Parker Kennedy, Morgan Costilow, Kayce Kennedy, Hailey and Oliver Queen, Lydia Miner and Layla Kennedy; fifth generation and great great granddaughter, Kayslee Harper; one sister-in-law, Lena Bel Miner, Philippi; numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and wife, Cliff was preceded in death by two daughters, Mary Ann Miner and Brenda Claybourne and husband Norman; one granddaughter, Stephanie H Miner, one great granddaughter, Makayla Queen; four brothers, Stanley Miner, Brady Miner, Virgil Miner and Herb Miner. Family will receive friends at Davis Funeral Home, 124 Olen Thomas Drive, Clarksburg, on Monday, February 17, 2020 from 2 to 8PM. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, February 18, 2020 at 2:00 PM with Pastor Ezik Norris officiating. Interment will follow at Welch Cemetery.
