Clara May Snell

Clara May Snell, 72, of Lumberport, passed away at her home on Monday, January 12, 2026.  She was born on February 5, 1953 in Clarksburg, a daughter of the late Clarence Yoak and Juanita Vernon Yoak.

She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Lawrence Robert Snell, whom she married on September 5, 1972.

She is also survived by one son, Robert Isaac Snell; one granddaughter, Isis Snell; two brothers, Okey Yoak of Stonewood and Clarence Yoak, Jr. of Brown.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by one brother, David Yoak.

Clara was a 1972 graduate of R.W. High School and a proud veteran who honorably served in the United States Army. She furthered her education by attending Fairmont State University, where she pursued studies in criminal justice and art. Clara had a deep love for painting and the arts, finding joy and peace through her creativity. She also cherished caring for her beloved pet Chihuahuas, who brought her much happiness and companionship. Clara was known for her happy spirit, helpful nature, and kind heart, and she will be remembered as a truly good person who touched the lives of those around her. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
