Christie A. Shipplett, 69 of Clarksburg, passed away on Tuesday, September 13, 2022 at the Bridgeport Health Care Center. She was born December 7, 1952 in Webster Springs, daughter of the late Ray and Vella Riffle Saffle.
Christie is a Fairmont State Alumni, receiving her bachelor’s degree in business in 1974. She was a member of Horizons Church in Lost Creek. She enjoyed reading, studying her bible, watching Jeopardy, crime dramas, and was an avid WVU football and basketball fan. Christie was a teacher at Salem College, the manager of Montgomery Ward Automotive, and from 1993 to 2020 was a real estate broker for Apex Realty then ultimately retired from Mountain State Realty.
Christie is survived by her husband, Fred Shipplett; two children, Aimee Nicewarner and husband Jayson of Morgantown and Cory Shipplett of Clarksburg; one sister, Wanda Knight of Sutton, WV, and her faithful Yorkie companion Sophia.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Davis Funeral Home 124 Olen Thomas Drive, Clarksburg, WV, on Saturday, October 1, 2022 at 9am until the time of the service at 11am with Pastor Quint Pitts officiating. Davis Funeral Home and Onsite Crematory is honored to assist the Shipplett Family with the cremation arrangements for Christie.
