Chris Romeo Obituary

Chris Thomas Romeo, 57, passed peacefully from this life on Friday, June 25, 2021. Chris was born on September 7, 1963 in Clarksburg, WV to Mary K. Paugh Romeo and the late Thomas J. Romeo of Shinnston.

Chris’s home was in Aliquippa, PA, where he spent many years of his life. Chris loved living in Pennsylvania and had met many good friends throughout his years there, but always came home to those he loved in WV. Anyone that knew Chris would tell you how much he loved to make people laugh. He had a sense of humor like no other. He was a good friend to many; strangers became his friends and friends became his family. He loved music, dancing, traveling, fishing, and cooking. He loved sports and had a special place in his heart for his Pittsburgh teams. He was an entrepreneur at heart and always had new ideas that he would get excited about. He worked as a Commercial Account Executive for Heartland (Previously Tsys). His work took him to many states and cities in the United States.

His life on Earth was not nearly long enough for us, but he packed those fifty-seven years full of fun and good times. Even though our hearts are broken, we will hold in our hearts the memories of the years we were given with him.

Chris is survived by his mother, Mary K. Romeo of Shinnston; his brother, Michael Romeo and Lee Ann of Shinnston; his sister, Kathy Martin and Eric of Shinnston; his nephews, Tyler Romeo and Emily of Morgantown, Tyler Martin of Memphis, TN, Michael Martin of Shinnston; nieces, Olivia Whitehair and Isaac of Fairbanks, Alaska and Madilyn Martin of Shinnston; Chris is also survived by his fiancé, Maricel Serna and her children, who were the light of his life, Erjelyn, Earl, and Laisa May; as well as many Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins.

Chris was preceded in death by his father, Thomas J. Romeo, grandparents, Joseph and Catherine Romeo, and Denver and Mary Paugh, all formerly of Shinnston.

The family of Chris Romeo would like to thank the hospice nurses of J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital for all the love and compassion they gave to our family in this very difficult time and also to all of our friends, families, church members, and ministers who sent up prayers on our behalf in our time of sorrow. A very special thank you to Bette Romeo for being a loving friend to Chris and for helping him when he needed it most and for sitting with us and sharing stories of his beautiful life. Your love and kindness will never be forgotten.

“Our hearts still ache with sadness and many tears still flow.

What it means to lose you, no one will ever know.

We hold you close with our hearts, and there you will remain.”

A private graveside service will be held at Shinnston Memorial Cemetery at a later date. Davis Funeral Home and Onsite Crematory handled the cremation arrangements for the Romeo Family.
