Chester "Chetty" Burr Harper

Chester “Chetty” Burr Harper, 82, of Clarksburg, passed away on Thursday, March 28, 2024 in Jane Lew.  He was born on March 6, 1942 in Clarksburg, a son of the late George Harper, Sr. and Freda Elizabeth Queen Harper.

He is survived by one brother, George Harper, Jr. and wife Pamela Marple Harper of Lost Creek, and one sister, Shirley Ann Johnson of Clarksburg.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by one brother, Robert Harper.

Chetty was a 1960 graduate of RW High School and proudly served in the United States Army.  He was employed as a Road Mechanic for Allegheny Freight Lines until his retirement.  He enjoyed WVU athletics as well as car races.  Most of all, he lived a simple life and enjoyed going to church and also being of service to his friends and relatives by always helping them out whenever they needed it.

Family will receive friends at Davis Funeral Home, 124 Olen Thomas Drive, Clarksburg, WV 26301, on Wednesday, April 3, 2024, from 4:00 – 7:00 pm.  Funeral services will conducted at Davis Funeral Home on Thursday, April 4, 2024 at 11:00 AM with Pastor Dan Cope officiating.
