Charleyne Turner Chipps, 76, of Summit Park, passed away peacefully on May 9, 2026, at United Hospital Center, surrounded by the love and memories of those who knew her best.
Born on January 11, 1950, in Clarksburg, she was the beloved daughter of the late Leon R. Turner and Dorris Michaels Turner. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Brady Strader, and her second husband, John E. Chipps.
Left to cherish her memory are her devoted son, Travis Strader; her loving sister, Chrystalyn Tenney and husband Dennis; her brother, Roger Turner and wife Victoria; along with several nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends who will miss her deeply.
Charleyne dedicated much of her life to hard work and service to others. She spent 49 years doing office work before continuing part-time employment with Kroger and the Bridgeport Public Library, where her kindness and warm spirit touched many lives. She was a faithful attendee of The First Church of the Nazarene in Stonewood.
She found joy in life’s simple pleasures — watching westerns, playing cards with family and friends, and especially spending time with her beloved dogs, Bruno, Bella, and Ginger, who brought her endless companionship and happiness.
Above all, Charleyne will be remembered for her caring heart, quiet strength, and the love she shared with those around her. Her presence will be deeply missed, but the memories she leaves behind will forever remain in the hearts of her family and friends.
Family and friends will be received at Davis Funeral Home, 124 Olen Thomas Drive, Route 98, Clarksburg, on Tuesday, May 12, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. until time of the service funeral service at 7:00 p.m. with Pastor Mathew Keith officiating.
