Charles "Chuck" Edward Dunn III

Charles “Chuck” Edward Dunn III, 53 of Bridgeport passed away on July 24, 2020 at his home with his family by his side. Chuck was born on January 10, 1967 in Clarksburg, the son of Cherie Anita Mourino Dunn, Clarksburg and Charles Edward Dunn Jr, LaPlata, MD. Chuck graduated from Washington Irving, Class of 1985 and attended Fairmont State College. He retired from the FBI with twenty six years of service where he was FBI Police for most of his career and lastly a Management and Program Analyst.  Chuck loved watching his grandson, Aidan, in baseball and football and was known as his “Happy Place”. He was proud of his yard and never turned down his grandson, Brantley, a ride on the mower.  He was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan.  He enjoyed going with his wife to the movies, yard sales and festivals.  His life was all about spending time with his family, to include fishing and swimming in the ocean during family vacations. In addition to his parents, Chuck is survived by his wife of thirty three years, Roberta Powell Dunn; son, Jacob Edward Dunn and Melissa of Bridgeport; grandsons, Aidan and Brantley Dunn; mother-in-law, Darla Jean Layfield Everley of Clarksburg; brothers-in-law which were more like brothers, Donald “Donny” Lee Powell and fiancée, Channtelle Lantz of Country Club, Richard Leon Powell and wife Tracy of Zanesville, OH; sister-in-law, Sherrill Powell of Clarksburg; two brothers, James Stephen Dunn and Michelle, Bridgeport, Brian Vincent Dunn and Jamie, LaPlata, MD; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Chuck is preceded in death by his grandparents, Adolf Vincent and Thelma Ann Labenne Mourino, Charles Edward Dunn Sr. and Madelyn Dunn; great grandma, Datha Willis; special great aunt, Edith Sprowls; fathers-in-law, Robert “Bob” Lee Powell and Raymond William Everley. Family and friends will be received at Davis Funeral Home, 124 Olen Thomas Dr./Rt. 98, Clarksburg on Tuesday, July 28, 2020 from 12:00 Noon until 8:00PM with proper distancing and face mask required.  Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, July 29, 2020 at 11:00AM with Pastor Tom Horne officiating. Interment will follow at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be sent to the Bridgeport Little League or Bridgeport Youth Football.
