Charles Taylor Swiger, 96, of East View passed away on Friday, September 10, 2021 at his residence with family by his side. He was born September 30, 1924 in Smithfield, WV son of the late James Blaine and Loma Bell Welch Swiger.
Charles served his country in the United States Marines. He was a machinist for National Rubber Machinery and consultant with UC Industries. Charles was a hard worker and very talented in making many things. He and Dot would do plastic canvas. He enjoyed being outside and doing things around the house.
Charles is survived by two daughters, Charlotte Rigney and Terry Harris, both of Center Point; six grandchildren, Kevin Rigney and Sherri, Manassas, VA, Mollie Bowling and Dennis, Center Point, Charles Rigney and Erin, Manassas, VA, Aaron Judy, Dublin, VA, Clinton Harris and Heather, West Farmington, OH, Rebekah Russell and Bobby, Salem; many great and great great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Charles was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy “Dot” Lee Swiger on September 24, 2020; siblings, Argle Dale Swiger Sr, Lindon Swiger, Merle Swiger, Richard Swiger, Edna Woodson, Marie Harbert and Hayward Swiger
Davis Funeral Home and Onsite Crematory handled the cremation arrangements for the Swiger Family. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date with private inurnment at Bridgeport Cemetery.
