Charles Roscoe Henning, Jr., 80, of West Union, passed away on Thursday, March 20, 2025 in Clarksburg at the Louis A. Johnson VA Hospital. He was born on March 10, 1945 in Lost Creek, a son of the late Charles Roscoe Henning, Sr. and Minnie Ada Kendall Henning.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Zelda “Delores” Jones Henning, who passed away on January 23, 2021. They were married on January 25, 1969.
He is survived by two children, Deanna Smith and husband Jay of West Union and Charles “Chuck” Henning, III and wife Shellie also of West Union; five grandchildren, Atlanta Henning, Jayla Collaconto and husband Sebastian, Kaylee Smith, Jesse Skidmore and Brianna Stiles and husband Matt; three great grandchildren, Brantley, Evelyn and Kenzie Stiles; one sister, Linda Kay Robinson of West Milford; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was also preceded in death by two brothers, Peter James Henning and Clarence Henning and one sister, Carol Darras.
Charles was a veteran of both the United States Army as well as the United States Navy. He was employed as a glass worker with Rolland Glass as well as Fourco Glass until his retirement. He enjoyed farming and was a huge West Virginia University fan, enjoying watching all of their sporting events, especially football and basketball. He was a Jehovah Witness by faith.
Family will receive friends at Davis Funeral Home, 124 Olen Thomas Drive, Clarksburg, WV 26301, on Monday, March 24, 2025 from 10:00am until time of funeral service at 12:00 noon with John Cascarelli presiding.
