Charles Ronald Coburn

Charles Ronald Coburn, 86, of Fairmont, passed away on Saturday, January 24, 2026 in Fairmont.  He was born on April 2, 1939 in Clarksburg, a son of the late Paul Coburn and Annabelle Ayers, Coburn.

He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Brenda Coberly Coburn, whom he married on August 20, 2005.

He is survived by three children Cheryl Mazany and husband John, of Merritt Island, Fla, Kelly Coburn of Clarksburg and Ronnie Coburn of Clarksburg; step children, Terri Pethtel and Joyce Williams and husband Roy; several grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Carol Coburn and one brother Wayne Coburn.

Charles attended Washington Irving High School before moving to New York, where he completed his education. He proudly served in the United States Navy, a time in his life he held with great honor. Following his military service, Charles built a long and successful career as an insurance agent, working for more than 50 years with Bankers Life and later Mutual of Omaha. He truly enjoyed helping others and took great pride in his work.

In his free time, Charles loved golfing and bowling, playing football in his younger days, spending time with animals, and relaxing at Big Bear Lake. He also enjoyed watching the New York Giants Football.  He had a wonderful sense of humor and an infectious smile that could brighten any room. Charles had a special love for children and dogs and cats, and his kindness, patience, and gentle spirit touched everyone who knew him. He will always be remembered as a loving, caring, and truly wonderful man.
