Carolyn “Momma G” Sue Hovey, 84 of Clarksburg passed away on Wednesday, December 11, 2024 at Clarksburg Healthcare Center. She was born April 1, 1940 in Clarksburg, daughter of the late Harley Vernon and Clara Kathryn Morris Stevens.
Momma G had worked at Anchor Hocking, was a bartender for the Eagles, VFW and other bars around town and last worked at Olivero’s Peppers. She was an avid WVU Football, Miami Dolphins and Washington Redskins fan. She was a member of the Red Hats and enjoyed working crossword puzzles.
Momma G is survived by her children, Crystal Borowski (Alan) Salem, Kevin Golden, Clarksburg; Clara Jo Weiss, OH and her family; one grandson, Nathaniel Joseph Golden, Clarksburg; siblings, David Stevens (Tonya), Clarksburg, Gary Stevens (Virginia), Clarksburg, and Sandra Bennett, Stonewood; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Momma G was preceded in death by her siblings, Walter Stevens, Robert Stevens, Franklin Stevens, Ronald (Bo) Stevens, Larry Stevens, Phyllis Fornash, Jo Ann Weiss, Emma Jean Cross Browning.
Momma G will be cremated with inurnment at Stonewall Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can made to her Care Fund on her memorial page. Online condolences can be made at www.davisfuneralhomewv.com. Davis Funeral Home and Onsite Crematory is honored to serve the family.
