Carolyn Sue (Weekley) Smith

Carolyn Sue Weekley Smith, 67, of Bridgeport, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 14, 2026, at J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital, surrounded by the love of her family.

Born on May 13, 1959, in Clarksburg, she was the cherished daughter of the late Boyd and Isabelle Varner Weekley.

Carolyn was a hardworking and dedicated woman who spent many years in the hospitality industry, serving as Executive Housekeeper at Hampton Inn and later working at Wingate by Wyndham. She took great pride in her work and in caring for others, a quality that carried through every aspect of her life.

More than anything, Carolyn loved her family. Her greatest joy was being a wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Whether sharing stories, celebrating milestones, or simply enjoying time together, she treasured every moment spent with those she loved. Her family was the center of her world, and the memories they created together will remain a lasting source of comfort and strength.

Carolyn was known for her spirited personality and unwavering passions. She was an avid NASCAR fan whose loyalty always belonged to Chase Elliott. Race days were special occasions, and she never missed an opportunity to cheer on her favorite driver. She also loved professional wrestling and enjoyed following the larger-than-life personalities and excitement of the sport. Carolyn was outspoken about her beliefs and proudly supported President Donald Trump, never shying away from sharing her opinions with those around her.

She leaves behind her husband, Timothy Ray Smith; two sons, Jeff Smith and companion Leanna Fury of Salem, and Chad Smith and wife Alice of Clarksburg; three beloved grandsons, Landon Smith, Jacob Smith, and Levi Smith; two brothers, Jerry Weekley of Salem and Larry Weekley of West Union; and several nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.

In addition to her parents, Carolyn was welcomed into eternal rest by her son, Timothy "TJ" Smith; and her sisters, Dorothy Davis, Patty Weekley, and Betty Ross.

Graveside services will be held at Center Point Cemetery, Center Point on Friday, June 19, 2026 at 1:00PM.

Carolyn's family will remember her for her fierce love, her strong convictions, her sense of humor, and the joy she found in life's simple pleasures.
