Carol Baker Barker, 85, of Mount Clare, passed away at her home on Tuesday, February 18, 2025. She was born on June 18, 1939 in Clarksburg, a daughter of the late Ernest Edward Baker and Opal Irene Maxwell Baker.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years Frederick Eugene Barker whom she married in 1957.
She is survived by her children, Diana Anderson and husband Doug of Lost Creek, Frederick Barker, II and wife Kirsten of Gloucester VA, Dewey Barker and wife Holly of French Creek.
She is survived by 19 grandchildren; 30 great grandchildren, three brothers, Glen E. Baker, Bill Baker and wife Ella Kay, and Michael Baker and wife Delores; one sister, Janet Johnson and husband Gale; and numerous nieces and nephews; and her beloved dog Trixie.
In addition to her parents and husband she was also preceded in death by one son Randall Lee “Randy” Barker; two brothers, David E. Baker and Marvin Baker; one grandson, Jason Swiger.
Carol was a 1957 graduate of Victory High School and worked as a nurse’s aid for many years at United Hospital Center. She enjoyed reading, crocheting and crafting. Most of all she enjoyed children and loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Carol was the caretaker of her family and will be greatly missed.
