Carl Short Obituary

Carl “David” Short, 79 of Clarksburg passed away on Thursday, May 23, 2019 at his residence with family by his side.  He was born March 4, 1940 in Clarksburg, son of the late James Wilford and Madeline Virginia Bunnell Short.  Carl was a retired Meat Cutter from Rosebud Foodland. His hobbies was golfing and watching cowboy movies. He was an avid WVU Mountaineer and Dallas Cowboy Fan.  He is survived by his wife, Suella Jean Bewley Short whom he married December 31, 1977; three sons, David Short and Lori, Bridgeport, Mark Short, Clarksburg, Shane Pierce and Melissa, Spelter; four daughters, Lisa Post and Steve, Clarksburg, Sherry Mazzie and Paul, Northview, Bridget Short and Mike Collins, Spelter, Vickie Edwards, Morgantown; thirteen grandchildren; several great grandchildren; two sisters, Florence Brown and Sally Pennington; several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, “Sonny” Short, Bill Short, and Paul Short; two sisters, Aretta McCoy, and Myrtle Matheny. Family will receive friends at Davis Funeral Home, 124 Olen Thomas Dr, Clarksburg, on Saturday, May 25, 2019 from 10am -1pm.
