Brandy Nicole Benedum 42, of Stonewood, went home after her heroic battle on Saturday, February 8, 2025 in Bridgeport at United Hospital Center with family by her side. She was born on September 12, 1982 in Morgantown, a daughter of Deanna Rose Stewart McKinney (Sid), Bridgeport, and James Richard Claypool II, Lumberport.
In addition to her parents, Brandy is survived by her loving husband of 22 years, Nathaniel Adam Benedum whom she married on February 23, 2002; her pride and joy, her five children, Tyler, Casey, Haley, Sarah and Ethan Benedum; one sister, Lori Davis (Buck), Bristol, TN; one brother, Amos Claypool; Lumberport; maternal grandmother, Ella “Patty” Stewart, Clarksburg; paternal grandmother, Rachael Claypool, Clarksburg; father-in-law, Leslie Benedum, Durbin; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Brandy is preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Louis Stewart; paternal grandfather, James Claypool; and mother-in-law, Penny Benedum.
Brandy graduated from South Harrison High School. Her life was her children, family and her Lord. Her life revolved around raising her five children in a Christian home and being very active with the Christian Apostolic Church. Brandy was a fan of anything Disney.
Family and friends will be received at the Davis Funeral Home on Thursday, February 13, 2025 from 3:00-7:00PM and on Friday, February 14, 2025 from 9AM until the time of the Funeral Service at 12:00 Noon with Pastor Doug Joseph and Minister David Claypool officiating.
