Boyd Lee Whipkey, 86, of Lost Creek passed away on Sunday November 1, 2020 at his residence with his family by his side. Boyd was born February 24, 1934 in Wilsonburg, son of the late Boyd William and Nina Lee Kinsey Whipkey.
Boyd was a proud USMC veteran who was a member of the 981 DHL Marine Corp League and American Legion. He was a factory worker at Carnation Company and Fourco Glass. He was a member of the United Evangelistic Mission Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and singing.
Boyd is survived by his loving wife, Ann Whipkey; Marian Lee Bland and husband George of Mount Clare, Vincent Matthew Whipkey and Beth of Clarksburg, Lori Elaine Riddle of Clarksburg, Paul Norman Whipkey and Tammy of Mount Clare, David Jay Allen and Maria of Sterling, VA, Jason Ray Allen and Teresa of Good Hope; seventeen grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren; one brother, Robert Wayne Whipkey; two sisters, Judith Swoger and Diane Doke; and longtime friends, Jerry Miller and Ernie Morgan; four legged companion, Bailey.
In addition to his parents, Boyd was preceded in death by his children, Robert Dean Whipkey and David William Whipkey, and brother Vernon Kent Whipkey.
Family will receive friends at Davis Funeral Home, 124 Olen Thomas Drive, Clarksburg on Wednesday, November 4, 2020 from 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM with proper distancing and face mask required. Funeral services will be Thursday, November 5, 2020 at 11:00 AM with Pastor Chad Metz officiating. Interment will follow at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens with full military honors accorded by the Harrison County Honor Guard and the United States Marine Honor Guard.
