Blanche Vera (Watson) Bennett

Blanche Vera Bennett, 92 of Clarksburg passed away on Thursday, January 30, 2020 at United Hospital Center with family by her side. She was born August 17, 1927 in Beverly, WV daughter of late Eugene and Susan Jane Wiseman Watson.

Blanche was known for being a great cook and famous for her potato salad, brown beans, tomato gravy, and homemade bread.  She also attended Upper Room Church regularly.  Blanche worked at the Clarksburg Library and the Terrace Motel. She loved her family time and being in the woods. 

Blanche is survived by six children, Vera M Workman and Edward, Clarksburg, Howard W. Bennett and wife Janet of Junior, Jimmy C Bennett of Clarksburg, Kathryn S Bennett of Lumberport, Rickey C Bennett Sr. and wife Margaret of Morrisville, PA, Debra J Yeager of Clarksburg; she raised two special nephews, Junior Fuston and wife Geraldine of Beverly, and Bobby Fuston of Martinsburg; twenty four grandchildren, thirty five great grandchildren and ten great great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

 Blanche was preceded in death by her husband Charles L Bennett on December 17, 1980; siblings, Flora Fuston, Silas Watson, Thurman Watson, Ellen Grose, Washington Watson, Howard Watson, and Cora Leary; one granddaughter, Kimberly Lou Hurst; one great-grandson, Shawn Michael Christopher Bunnell. 

Family will receive friends at Davis Funeral Home, 124 Olen Thomas Drive, Clarksburg, on Sunday, February 2, 2020 from 12 Noon to 7PM and on Monday, February 3, 2020 from 9AM until time of funeral service at 11:30AM with Pastor Michael Flanary officiating.
