Billy Jo Shingleton

Billy Jo Shingleton, 53, of Lumberport, passed away on Thursday, November 18, 2021 at United Hospital Center with family by his side. He was born on June 14, 1968 in Clarksburg, the son of the late William K Shingleton and JoAnn Wilmouth Shingleton Langford.

Billy graduated from Lincoln High School, Class of 1987. He worked for the Harrison County Board of Education for seventeen years as the Head Custodian at Lincoln High School.  Billy was a member of the Glen Falls Baptist Church where he enjoyed singing and was also a member of the Clarksburg Eagles.  His hobbies were singing karaoke, cooking, baking, skydiving, cutting grass, and he loved being a jokester and spending time with his family and friends.  He was always caring and doing things for others. Billy would grow his hair long so he would be able to donate to children with cancer.

Billy is survived by his loving wife and best friend of thirty-one years, Nancy Marie Henderson Shingleton; one son, William J Shingleton and fiancée Breanna Murphy, Bridgeport; three grandchildren, Liam Shingleton, Xander Shingleton and Elijah Godfrey; siblings, David Shingleton and Traci, Anderson, SC; Karen Harclerode and Paul “Ditch”; Shinnston; half siblings, Raymond Carder and Clarissa, Salem, Roger Carder, Worthington; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Billy was preceded in death by his half-brother, Rodney Carder.

Family will receive friends at Davis Funeral Home, 124 Olen Thomas Drive, Clarksburg, WV 26301, on Tuesday, November 23, 2021 from 2-8PM. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, November 24, 2021 at 11:00 AM with Pastor Bryant Bailey officiating. Interment will follow at Lumberport Lions Club Cemetery.
