Beverly Jean Emrick 77, of Bridgeport WV passed away peacefully on February 23, 2026, at home with her family. She was born on July 30, 1948, in Weston, West Virginia, to the late Roscoe and Betty (Shuttlesworth) Workman.
Beverly was a graduate of Washington Irving High School in Clarksburg, West Virginia, and earned an associate’s degree from Fairmont State University. She devoted her career to helping others, working at Heart Strings, New Life Christian Center, Criss Cross, CIA in Washington, D.C., and serving briefly with the U.S. Navy. She also served faithfully as the Ladies Outreach Secretary for Christian Assembly in Nutter Fort, where she has faithfully attended for the last 16 years.
Beverly accepted her Lord and Savior in 1981 and began attending Faith Fellowship Church. Those around her witnessed a profound and joyful change in her life after being reborn in Christ, which remained a guiding light for her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 49 years, John “Jack” Emrick whom she married on July 9, 1976.
She is survived by her children: Charles Eric “Chip” Willis and Karin Folio of Clarksburg, WV; Alisha Setchell and husband Ross of Bridgeport, WV; and Bruce Emrick of Farmington, WV; seven grandchildren, Cassi Poster and husband Ryan, Brock Willis, Faith Setchell, Connor Setchell, Liam Setchell, John Emrick, and Brittany Emrick—and twelve great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her five siblings: Gerald Workman of Clarksburg, WV; Deborah Harvey and husband Randy of Lewisburg, WV; Sheliah Stevens and husband Dale of Grafton, WV; John Workman and wife Gloria of Clarksburg, WV; and Billy Workman and wife Tina of Mebane, NC.
Beverly was known for her talent in writing poetry and songs, and sharing her creative gifts with all who knew her. She loved reading books, attending musicals and Broadway shows, indulging in sweet treats, and keeping things spotless and in order. She was lovingly known as “Nini” by her grandchildren and great grandchildren, and her greatest joy came from spending time with them sharing cookies, laughter, and love.
She treasured the final years of her life living with her daughter and family, savoring every precious moment together. Beverly’s warmth, faith, and creativity touched all who knew her, leaving a lasting impression of love, devotion, and joy.
Family and friends will be received at Davis Funeral Home, 124 Olen Thomas Drive, Route 98, Clarksburg, on Thursday, February 26, 2026, from 3-8 pm. Funeral services will be held on Friday February 27, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at Christian Assembly, 316 Buckhannon Pike, Nutter Fort 26301with Pastor Frederick Aves officiating.
