Betty Jo Williams Linton, beloved Mother, Grandmother, and Great Grandmother passed away peacefully on December 30, 2021. She was born in French Creek, WV, on January 18, 1931 the daughter of the late Gilbert H. and Izetta Cowger Williams.
Betty is survived by her children Bill and Marilyn Fox, Peggy Fox, Patrick and Michele Linton, and Marion Linton; seven grandchildren; Amanda, Abigail, Melanie, Mattthew, Billie, Shelby, and Jessica; eight great grandchildren; as well as two sisters, Dorothy Hock and Judy McDonald.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Claude W. Linton, as well as four brothers and four sisters.
Betty graduated from Buckhannon Upshur High School. Eventually she moved to Clarksburg and worked as a seamstress for many years with Maidenform, Mountain Artisans, and Clarksburg Casket Company. Sewing was a hobby for her too and whether it was baby doll clothes, Halloween costumes, or curtains, Betty could sew up anything you could dream. Best of all, Betty sewed many stacks of beautiful, one-of-a-kind quilts. Everyone in the family benefited from her sewing skills. Betty was also an avid gardener. She was always surrounded by plants and flowers.
The Family would like to thank Robin for the years of loving care and the friendship she shared with Betty. They would also like to extend a special “Thanks” to Ruby Hospital and WVU Hospice, as well as Dr. Elizabeth Hess for the excellent level of care they provided Betty for many years prior to her passing.
A Private Funeral Service will be held at Davis Funeral Home and Onsite Crematory, 124 Olen Thomas Drive Clarksburg, WV 26301 at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to WVU Hospice at 327 Medical Park Dr. Bridgeport, WV 26330. Davis Funeral Home is honored to assist the Linton Family at this time.
