Audrey E Taylor

Audrey Elizabeth Taylor, 67, of Fairmont, passed away on Tuesday, June 30, 2026 in Fairmont.  She was born on August 15, 1958 in Chicago, IL, a daughter of the late Clyde Staats and Ruby Staats.

She is survived by two daughters, Elizabeth Cooper and husband Jonathan of Fairmont and Suzie Davis of Chicago, IL; one half-sister, Jessica Jewel Taylor; grandchildren, Allie Davis, Abbie Davis, Chelle Leopard, Helen Taylor, Felix Taylor and Ira Taylor.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by one brother, Clyde Staats, Jr.

Audrey was a graduate of Herbert Hoover High School and was employed in retail sales at Drug Emporium, where she enjoyed meeting and helping others. She found joy in life's simple pleasures, especially listening to music, savoring a hot cup of coffee, watching scary movies, and celebrating Halloween, a holiday she eagerly looked forward to each year. Audrey had a vibrant personality and a contagious spirit that made those around her feel welcome and at ease.

A woman of remarkable strength and unwavering optimism, Audrey faced life's challenges with courage, grace, and determination. She had a comforting way of reassuring family and friends during difficult times and possessed an extraordinary ability to find humor in almost any situation. Her laughter, kind heart, and positive outlook were gifts she freely shared with others. Audrey's love, resilience, and the countless memories she created will remain in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her, and she will be deeply missed.
