Anna Jeanne (Boylen) Summers

Anna Jeanne (Boylen) Summers, 97, of Clarksburg, passed away at her home on Sunday, May 18, 2025.  She was born on June 20, 1927 in Grafton, a daughter of the late Carl L. Boylen and Lela Lenora Nestor Boylen.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James William “Bill” Summers who passed away on November 12, 2011.  They were united in marriage on April 25, 1947.

She is survived by two children, Barbara Sue Mullen and husband Carson of Dumfries, VA, Anne Marie Haught of Bridgeport; five grandchildren, Alberta Haught and husband Dr. Christopher Lewis, DDS of Harmony, PA, James Hunter Mullen and wife Ashley of Woodbridge, VA, and Kara Suthard  and husband Robert Lee Suthard of Lorton, VA; Josey Casto and husband Michael Frost, of Philadelphia, PA, Paul Edward Casto and companion Katy of Morgantown; five great grandchildren, Liam Mullen,  Victoria Elizabeth Suthard, Valerie Suthard, Christian Lewis and Francesca Frost; son-in-law, Paul Casto of Morgantown.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her daughters Nancy Jeanne Summers and infant daughter, Linda Carol Summers;  two sisters, Janet Sue Ward and Mary Kathryn Shafferman; grandson Matthew Carson Mullen.     

Anna was a graduate of Grafton High School and also attended two and half years of Nursing School at St. Mary’s.  She was a piano teacher and also was a member of the North View United Methodist Church since 1949 where she played the organ faithfully.  She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, which she took great pride in discovering her heritage.  She also enjoyed taking care of flowers, but most importantly she enjoyed her church family at North View United Methodist Church, where she served in many capacities.

Family will receive friends at the Davis Funeral Home, 124 Olen Thomas Dr. Rt. 98, Clarksburg on Wednesday, May 21, 2025 from 3:00 PM - 7:00 PM.  Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, May 22, 2025 at 11:00 AM with Reverend John Langenstein presiding.   Interment will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery.  Online condolences can be made at DavisFuneralHomeWV.com.
