Our beautiful mother, Anna Elizabeth Angiulli Powell of North View community in Clarksburg went home to join our Lord on Thursday, May 11, 2023.
Anna was born April 18, 1931 and grew up in Dawson, a daughter of the late Angelo and Pauline Angiulli. She was a woman whose faith and positive attitude was an inspiration to all that knew her.
In addition to her parents, Anna was preceded in death by her husband Kenneth “Doc” Powell, sister Dorothy Lopez who was her twin and her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Everett and Janice (Tucker) Powell.
Anna is survived and will be missed by her children, Janice Powell Simon and her husband Rick of Walkersville, Margaret Powell Lyon and her husband Ken of Huntington and John David Powell and significant other Ailsa Iquinto of Clarksburg. Also surviving are her brother Ralph Angiulli and wife June and grandchildren Dr. Jacob Lyon and Jennifer Lyon and various cousins and nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Powell was a member of St. James Catholic Church in North View, where she served as a CCD teacher, a member and officer of the Altar Rosary Society and Eucharistic Minister.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of St. Joseph’s Nursing Care Facility in Buckhannon who became like a second family to her.
Friends will be received at Davis Funeral Home, 124 Olen Thomas Circle, Clarksburg on Monday, May 15, 2023 from 3-7 PM, where a prayer service will be held at 6:30 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, May 16, 2023 at 10:30 AM at the St. James Catholic Church with Father Akila Rodrigo as celebrant. Interment will be in the Holy Cross Cemetery.
