Allison “Blondie” Arol Starkey, Sr., 88, of Clarksburg, passed away on Friday, November 12, 2021. He was born on September 11, 1933 in Sedalia, the son of the late Arol Burton and Mamie Gertrude Allison Starkey.
Blondie graduated from Salem High School and served his country in the United States Army. He was manager of Outdoor Advertising at Lamar Advertising, did autobody work and an excellent handyman. He was a member of Spelter Senior Citizens. He enjoyed bowling, was an avid WVU fan, and loved his family.
Blondie is survived by his loving wife of sixty-eight years, Joretta “Meme” Belle Patterson Starkey whom he married on December 12, 1953; children, J.B. Starkey and JoAnn, Onnie Bergman and Jim Portaro, all of Clarksburg; daughter-in-law, Judy Starkey, Bridgeport; nine grandchildren, Heather Mudrick-Campbell, Allison Schirripa, Craig Starkey, Amanda Starkey, JJ Starkey, Scotty Starkey, Danny Bergman, Brandon Bergman and Matthew Bergman; eleven great grandchildren, Madison, Nora, Elliott, Grayson, Emma, Grace, Maddox, Brooklynn, Alexander, Lukas, and Andrew; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Blondie was preceded in death by one son, Allison Arol Starkey Jr on August 21, 2015; one brother, Robert Starkey.
Family will receive friends at Davis Funeral Home, 124 Olen Thomas Drive, Clarksburg, WV 26301, on Tuesday, November 16, 2021 from 3PM until time of funeral service at 7:00PM with Pastor Ron Hill officiating. Graveside service will be held at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens in Mount Clare on Wednesday, November 17, 2021 at 10:00AM with full military honors accorded by the Harrison County Honor Guard and the US Army Honor Guard.
