Agnes Mae "Jeepie" Merico, 90, of Grant Town, passed away on Sunday, May 31, 2026 at St. Barbara's in Monongah. She was born on April 19, 1936 in Logan, WV a daughter of the late Adam Mocsary and Ellen Kitchen Mocsary.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Larry Richard Merico, who passed away on September 5, 2021. They were united in marriage on July 2, 1960.
Agnes is survived by two daughters, Rose Suplita and husband Brent of Fairmont and Teresa Merico and Gary of Elkins; grandchildren, Justin Michael Dublin and Ryan Thomas Dublin and Jessica Rhea Owings and Thomas; great granddaughter, Abrielle “Abri” Jorja Dublin; siblings, Jewel Edmond, Rosalie Mocsary and Vincent “Butch” Mocsary.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by her son, James Thomas “Tommy” Steven Merico; siblings, Adam “Bo” Mocsary and Helen Jaques.
Agnes found her greatest happiness in the company of her family. She cherished trips to the beach, where countless memories were made with her children and grandchildren, and she looked forward to family gatherings that filled her home with laughter, love, and togetherness. Her children were the center of her world, and she devoted herself wholeheartedly to their lives, always supporting and encouraging them in their activities, accomplishments, and dreams. That same devotion extended to her grandchildren, whose lives she followed with pride and enthusiasm.
In her quieter moments, Agnes enjoyed working puzzles, watching her favorite television programs, and spending time with those she loved. She was a faithful member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church, where her faith provided guidance and strength throughout her life.
Agnes will be remembered as a woman with a truly kind and generous heart. Her loving and caring nature, gentle spirit, and unwavering dedication to her family touched the lives of everyone fortunate enough to know her. She had a special way of making people feel welcome, valued, and loved. The memories she created and the love she shared will remain a lasting gift to her family and friends for generations to come.
