Adam Thomas Mitchell

Adam Thomas Mitchell, 37, of Clarksburg, WV, passed away on March 28, 2024, at UHC Hospital in Bridgeport, WV following a long, hard-fought battle with a spinal cord injury, which resulted from a diving accident nearly 16 years ago. He was born on May 28, 1986, in Fairmont, WV.

Adam is survived by his loving parents, Ted and Kathy Mitchell, his devoted sister and caretaker of 16 years, Lori Ware (Mark), brother Brian Mitchell and companion Michelle Ramsey, sister Leanne Dotson (J.R.), nephews Brian Mitchell and Jack Dotson, nieces Drew Mitchell, Delaney Dotson, Macie Dotson, Abigail Ware, and Aubree Ware, great nephews Levi and Wesley Mitchell, and great-niece Amelia (Millie) Sisson all of whom he loved as if they were his own.

Adam was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather and grandmother, Leroy and Ruby Rigsby, his paternal grandfather and grandmother, Owen Blair Mitchell and Ethel Wanda Mitchell. Also greeting him in heaven were his bonus grandparents Carl (Heydad) Seamon, Sr. and wife Barbara Seamon (Simoni). His beloved four-legged companion Sasha must also have been wagging her tail and barking hello as Adam entered his eternal home.

Adam attended Emmanuel Christian School for his primary education and later attended Robert C. Byrd High School from 2004-2007, earning his GED in 2007.

Adam enjoyed various sports, particularly UFC fighting, MLB, and NFL, but he was a dedicated fan of WVU and the Dallas Cowboys football teams.

Adam's family would like to offer a special thanks to his physician and friend Dr. Kevin Tharakan and Dr. Nathan Hicks of UHC Family Medicine, Dr. Jamil Ahmed, Dr. Jonathan Stanley, and the staff at UHC Wound Care Center and UHC Pulmonary Medicine, Salvatore Marino, PA from UHC URology as well as Robert Funk, therapist and friend for the excellent care he has received over the past 16 years.

Family will receive friends at Davis Funeral Home, 124 Olen Thomas Drive, Clarksburg, WV 26301, on Monday, April 1, 2024, from 11:00 AM until the time of the funeral service at 1:00 PM with Pastor Chuck Madaus officiating.
