Libbie Jane Wade

Libbie "Jane" Wade was born March 17, 1948 in Fairmont WV to William Carlisle and Eleanor King Wade. She died on October 8, 2017 at United Hospital Center, after a short illness.

Jane graduated from Fairmont Senior High School and Fairmont State College before earning a Master's Degree in Social Work from West Virginia University. Jane worked for the Department of Human Services in McDowell, Hampshire, and Harrison counties before becoming a nursing home administrator. After serving as a building administrator, she became a regional director for AMFM and later Genesis Healthcare.

Upon retirement, Jane pursued her passions of cooking and hospitality and established Food for Friends a boutique catering service. She took great joy and pride in providing unique high quality food to enhance small gatherings. In addition to her catering business, she served as a volunteer for numerous community agencies with special time and care being given to Christ Episcopal Church.

Jane is survived by her brothers, Lisle (Margaret) Wade and Frank Wade; nieces and nephews, Bill (Christy) Wade, Brycie (Peter) Parnham, Steven (Linda) Wade, Jennifer (Nicholas) Greiner, Steve (Chriztine) Kirk and Stacey James; great nieces and nephews, Kylie, McKinley, Lila, Tristan, Wade, Carson, Jackson, Beck, Kathryn and Haden; cousin and dear friend, Harriett Starr. She is also survived by her church community who loved Jane and deeply enriched her life.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts should be directed to Christ Episcopal Church in Clarksburg.

A Memorial Service will be held at Christ Episcopal Church on Saturday, October 14, 2017 at 10:00 am with the Reverend Nora Becker, presiding.
