Barbara "Bobbie" Keim Hugus, 100, of Clarksburg passed away peacefully Wednesday, August 30, 2017 at her home two days before her 101st birthday. She was born September 1, 1916 in Clarksburg, WV; she was the daughter of the late Arlie S. and Marie S. Keim.
Bobbie was preceded in death by her husband, of 63 years, Evan Hugus, on January 17, 2009; son, David Lee Hugus; brothers, Roger C. and Arlie "Bud" Keim; sister, Maude Keim Ryan.
Bobbie is survived by a daughter, Margaret "Sissy" Hugus at home; daughter-in-law, Barbi Hugus of Greencastle, PA; nieces, Penelope "Penny" and Dennis Stahl of Meyersdale, PA; Donna Ruth and Donald Kula of Alexandria, VA; great granddaughter; cats, Maggie and Jigs.
Bobbie was a lifelong member of Immaculate Conception Parish, Clarksburg and a 21 year member of the West Milford Lions Club; where she acted as publicity chair for many years. During her service to the club, she received two high honors: the Leonard Jarrett Award for Continued Support of the WV Lions Sight and Hearing Foundation and the Melvin Jones Fellow for Dedicated Humanitarian Service, Lions Club International Foundation.
Bobbie enjoyed traveling with husband, Evan, to many Lions conventions, state, national, and international. She loved to grow large gardens and enjoyed canning their bounty, loved to cook big meals for family and friends, loved to watch the birds under the holly tree from her kitchen window and watching the soap, The Young and the Restless with her daughter Sissy. Bobbie enjoyed life to the fullest, sharing love and laughter throughout the years with all she met.
A special thanks to Amedisys Hospice Care for dedicated care given by nurses, LPN's, and aides. Special thanks also to good friends, Inez "Woody" Woodford (who called Bobbie "Short Stuff") for her love and care. Thank you to the girls at Headquarters, Teresa and Frances.
Family will receive friends at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Clarksburg, on Friday, September 1, 2017 from 12:00-1:00pm; Catholic Funeral Liturgy at 1:00pm with Father Casey Mahone, presider. Interment will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery.
