Winona Jean Gain

Winona Jean (Forrester) Gain, age 78, of Garrett Mills Lane, Grafton, passed away Thursday, August 15, 2013, at United Hospital Center. She was born November 23, 1934, in Salem, WV, a daughter of the late William Alonzo Forrester and Ida Elvira (Owens) Forrester. Her husband, Howard J. Gain, preceded her in death January 10, 1990.
Mrs. Gain was a 1953 graduate of Salem High School and attended St. Mary's School of Nursing in Clarksburg. She was retired having been employed as a nurses' aide, she also worked in food service and retail management.
Surviving are: two daughters, Kathy Lynne Nicholson and husband Paul, of Flemington, Lisa Kay Daff and husband Roger, of Grafton; one son, Brian J. Gain, of Flemington; six grandchildren, Justin Valdez, Christopher Valdez, Jennifer Lynn Moreland, Joshua Moreland, Levi Daff, and Stephanie Jo Gain; four great grandchildren; and one sister, Kay Frances Colony and husband Joel, of Latrobe, PA.
In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by: one son in infancy, Jeffery Alan Gain; and fourteen brothers and sisters.
At her request, Mrs. Gain will be cremated and interred at the WV National Cemetery.
