William "Bill" Thomas Courtney

William “Bill” Thomas Courtney, 67, of Clarksburg passed away Thursday, August 16, 2018 at his residence.  He was born January 27, 1951 in Clarksburg, son of the late Paul and Betty Jane Yost Courtney.  Bill graduated from Victory High School, Class of 1968.  He retired from the WV Division of Highways with thirty seven years of service. After retirement, he worked for Fisher Auto Parts.  Bill loved spending time with his grandchildren, family and the crew at Dan Thompson Towing.  He enjoyed watching sports and his WVU Mountaineers. Bill was a former coach for Central Little League and Jerry West Basketball.  Bill is survived by his son, Justin Michael Brady and wife Ashley, Clarksburg; three grandchildren, Ethan Hunter Brady, Skyler Alexis Brady and Kaden Isaac Joseph Brady; one brother, John “Mickey” Courtney and companion Jo Ellen Cleavenger, Clarksburg; one sister, Paula Beth Murphy, Clarksburg; nephew, Ricky Murphy. In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Madison Grace Brady on June 17, 2015; two brothers, Daniel Courtney and Robert Courtney; brother-in-law; Richard Murphy. Family will receive friends at the Davis Funeral Home in Clarksburg on Tuesday, August 21, 2018 from 4-8pm and  on Wednesday, August 22, 2018 from 9am until time of Funeral Service at 1:00 pm in the Chapel of Davis Funeral Home with Pastor Richard Settles officiating.  Interment will follow at Greenlawn Masonic Cemetery.  Online condolences can be sent to www.davisfuneralhomewv.com.  Davis Funeral Home is honored to assist the Courtney family.
