Sherman Jennings Snider, Jr.

Sherman Jennings Snider, Jr., 71 of Clarksburg, passed away on Wednesday, October 30, 2019 at his residence. He was born March 16, 1948 in Clarksburg, WV; the son of the late Sherman Jennings Snider Sr. and Betty Jane Watson Gould.   

Sherman is survived by his four children, Melissa Jane Mayle and Tommy, Rock Cave, WV, Tammy Irene Neff, Columbia, SC, Vickie Lynn Snider, Clarksburg, Sherman Jennings Snider III and Brenda, Kincheloe, WV; eight grandchildren, Tommy Mayle III and Sarah, Dustin Mayle and Kayli, Ryan Mayle and Kearstyn, Tiffany Neff, Russell Isaccs, Samantha Counts and Ricky, Trey Connolly, Raegan Rylea Snider; ten great grandchildren, Landyn, Coldyn, Isabella, Elijah, Kyah, Eli, Alley, Caleb, Layne, and Naomi; siblings, Roger Snider and Carol, Pittsburgh, PA; Vickie Metelenis, Long Island, NY; Louis Hilwig and Lora, Elyeria, OH; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Robin Lynn Bolner Snider on June 13, 2009; two siblings, Patty Stargasser, Shirley Shearer

Sherman was a US Navy Veteran serving during the Vietnam Era. His hobbies were collecting and watching anything John Wayne, hunting and fishing.

Family will receive friends at Davis Funeral Home, 124 Olen Thomas Dr., Clarksburg, on Thursday, October 31, 2019 from 4:00 until 7:00 PM. Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 1, 2019 at Davis Funeral Home at 11:00 AM with Pastor Tim Sandy officiating. Interment will follow at Coplin Cemetery where full military honors will be accorded by the Harrison County Honor Guard and the US Navy Reserves.
