Robert “Bob” H. Ashcraft, 87 of Clarksburg passed away on Tuesday, February 27, 2018 at United Hospital Center. He was born February 11, 1931 in Akron, OH, the son of the late Ralph and Bessie Ice Ashcraft.

Bob graduated from Fairmont Senior High School and was a butcher for the A&P for thirty plus years. After retirement, he sold advertising specialties. He loved WVU Mountaineers and Pittsburgh Steelers. Bob enjoyed reading poetry, traveling, cooking, eating, and had a sense of humor that always made you smile. He was a member of Fairmont Knights of Pythias #15 serving as Grand Chancellor 1996 and the Fairmont Masonic Lodge #9 A.F. & A.M for over fifty years. He attended Duff Street United Methodist Church. He will be greatly missed by family and friends.

Bob is survived by his companion of twenty five years, Ruth Snyder; four children, Deborah Porter, Robert Allen Ashcraft both of Phoenix, AZ, Sylvia Ansell Ashcraft, Laveen, AZ; Traci Lough and husband Bill, Fairmont; six grandchildren, Robert, Chris, Arla, Austin, Zachary and Dylan; one great grandson, Xander; four step children, Loanne Fitzwater, Fairview, WV, John Snyder and wife Beverly, Grafton, Susan Jones, Shinnston, Wayne Snyder and wife Roberta, Clarksburg; eleven step grandchildren, Joshua, Justin, Heather, Charles, Nathan, C.J., Karli, Adam, Erin, Darren, Jessica; several step great grandchildren; one brother, Edward Ashcraft, Akron, OH; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Bob is preceded in death by his brother, James Richard Ashcraft, infant twin brothers, Ralph and Raymond, and infant sister, Linda Lou; step daughter, Tamara Wilson

Family will receive friends at Davis Funeral Home, 124 Olen Thomas Dr., Clarksburg, on Sunday, March 4, 2018 from 1:00 – 6:00 pm; Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel of Davis Funeral Home on Monday, March 5, 2018 at 11:00 am with Reverend Mark Smith presiding. Entombment will follow at Grandview Memorial Gardens. Masonic ritualistic services will be held at the cemetery by Fairmont No. 9 A.F. & A.M. Masonic Lodge.
