Richard “Dick” Allen Carnes, 78 of Clarksburg passed away on Monday, October 28, 2019 at his residence. He was born May 9, 1941 in Elkins, WV, son of the late Sidney Carnes and wife Algie and Virginia Amos Carnes Boggess and husband Frank.
Richard is survived by three daughters, Delberta McKinney of Brushy Fork, Dianna Bailey-Miller & her husband, Paul of Bridgeport, and Sandra Mikes & her husband, Joseph of Clarksburg; four grandchildren, Cassandra “Candy” Bailey, Richard “Ricky” Bailey, Lane McNeil and Laken Mikes; twelve great-grandchildren, Kaydence, Brendon, Maddison, Riley, Bailey, Jason, Maci, Quincy, Nellis, Aaron, Serenity, and Mali; siblings, James Carnes and Mary, Shinnston, Jerry “Bird” Carnes and Sharon, Rivesville, Donna Wells and Daniel, Fairmont, Sue Wagner, Columbia City, IN, Edward “Buck” Carnes and Mary, Akron, OH, Paul Carnes and Ann, Kearneysville, WV, Homer Carnes and Rose, Gerald Carnes and Ann, Charles Carnes, Donald Carnes and Vickey, Tim Carnes and Carolyn, all of Mannington, Gloria Eddy, Hundred, Patty Hostutler and Bob, Mannington; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Richard was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Jo Dennison Carnes on December 22, 2017; granddaughter, Mallory Jo McKinney; son-in-law, Alan D. McKinney; two brothers, Clifford and Bernard Carnes, two sisters, Phyllis Bristo and Wilma Jean McInnes; and one infant half-sister, Judy Ann Carnes.
Richard was a member of the Clarksburg Church of God. He worked and retired from Coca Cola with over thirty three years of service. He was very passionate about his used car business. His hobbies were hunting, fishing and playing cards. He was a member of the Clarksburg Masonic Hermon Lodge #6 A.F. & A.M, and was a 32nd degree Scottish Rite Mason.
Family will receive friends at Davis Funeral Home, 124 Olen Thomas Drive, Clarksburg, on Friday, November 1, 2019 from 3:00 – 7:00 pm and on Saturday, November 2, 2019 from 10:00 am until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 am with Pastor Tom Horne, presiding.
