Millicent Matheny Obituary

Millicent Louise Matheny, 92 of Bridgeport, Formally of Glenville, passed away on Thursday, June 20, 2019 at White Oaks Assisted Living. She was born June 28, 1926 in Pasquotank County, North Carolina; the daughter of the late Willie H. and Maggie Forbes Jones.

Millicent is survived by her husband of 74 years, Warren Harding Matheny of Bridgeport; one sister, Mildred Jones Brown of Madison, MS; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Millicent is preceded in death by three siblings, Bailey F. Jones, Robert C. Jones and Willie A. “Bud” Jones.

Per Millicent’s request, her body will be donated to the WVU Human Gift Registry.

A Memorial service will be held at a later date.
