Mary Ellen Orndorff

Mary Ellen Orndorff of Buckhannon passed away Thursday, July 26, 2018 at her residence with her family by her side.  She was born March 25, 1949 in St Mary’s Hospital, Clarksburg,WV,  the daughter of John R Johnston and Nina Moneypenny Johnston. She graduated from RW Class of 1967.  She then attended WV Wesleyan College and got her Bachelors in 1971. She subsequently obtained her master’s degree from WVU.  She taught grades one to five in Harrison County until her marriage in 1978. After raising her children, she worked as the secretary of The Law Offices of David L. Orndorff .

She was active in the Rainbow Girls, and Girl Scouts of America.  She was a member of United Methodist Church, and served as the pianist and organist for many years at the Stonewall Methodist Church.  She enjoyed gardening, sewing, rug hooking, traveling, walking on the beach and shopping.

  She is survived by her husband David L Orndorff; her sons, Christopher David Orndorff and wife Brittany, residing at Blacklick, OH and Nicholas David Orndorff and wife Yoona, residing in Reston, VA, her daughter, Nina Marie Orndorff, residing in South Charleston, WV, three grandchildren, Ashton, Dominic and Ever, and her sisters-in-law Susan Arlene Runyan residing in Stonewood, WV, and Dorothy Jean Denis residing in Monroe Twp, NJ.

The family will receive friends at Davis Funeral Home on Rt. 98/Clarksburg, Friday, July 27, 2018 from 4-8PM. Funeral Services will be Saturday, July 28, 2018 at 11:00 AM in the Chapel of Davis Funeral Home with Reverend Helen R. Oates and Reverend Robert C. Cole presiding. Interment will follow at the Stonewall Park Cemetery. Online condolences may be sent to the family at DavisFuneralHomeWV.com.
