Mary Catherine Galasso

Mary Catherine Cicero Galasso, 95 of Clarksburg passed away on Thursday, August 23, 2018 at The Wyngate Senior Living Community in Parkersburg, WV with family by her side.  She was born April 4, 1923 in Clarksburg, WV, daughter of the late Antonio and Rose Suriano Cicero.  Mary graduated from Washington Irving High School. She retired as a freight billing clerk for Cook Motor Lines.  She enjoyed cooking large meals, celebrating holidays and being with her family.  Mary was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church. Mary is survived by two daughters, Elissa Lindsay and husband Dennis, Beckley, WV, Rosemary Shrewsbury, Parkersburg, WV; seven grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; son-in-law, John Turner, Perrysburg, OH; several nieces and nephews.  In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Leonard Joseph Galasso on December 14, 2009; daughter, Mary Theresa Turner; son-in-law, David Shrewsbury; two sisters, Francis Lopez and husband Tony, Virginia Bonasso and husband Jack. Family will receive friends at Davis Funeral Home, 124 Olen Thomas Dr, Clarksburg, on Monday, August 27, 2018 from 4-8PM where a vigil service will be held at 7:30pm and the Rosary to follow. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church on Tuesday, August 28, 2018 at 10:00AM with Father D. Kent Durig as celebrant.  Entombment will follow at Holy Cross Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Amedisys Hospice of Parkersburg, located at 2200 Grand Central Ave #102, Parkersburg, WV 26105.
