Lora Mae (Gower) Dye

Lora Mae Gower Dye 88, of Mount Clare, WV went home to be with the Lord on Monday, January 22, 2018 at her residence surrounded by her family.  She was born in Reynoldsville, WV on May 11, 1929 daughter of the late Parker and Maude Scott Gower.  On May 9, 1954 she was married to Thurman Dye, who preceded her in death on April 15, 1991.

Lora is survived by seven children Mary and Husband Mike Ball, Paula and Husband Pat Leonard, and Janet Dye of Mount Clare, WV.  Cathy and Husband Robert Swiger of Clarksburg, WV. Cheryl Critchfield and Fiancé William King of Stonewood, WV.  William and Wife Sarah Dye of Quiet Dell.  Karen and Husband Jeff Martinez of Wilsonburg, WV,

She is also survived by Grandchildren Michelle and Husband PJ Shaw, Lori and Husband Billy Gregory, Cari and Husband Alan Womeldorff, Heather Burch, David Critchfield and Fiance Jessica, William and Shane Critchfield, Robbie Swiger, Ryan Dye and Wife Megan , and LeAnna Dye

She also is survived by many Great Grandchildren Justin Shaw and Wife Bryanna, PJ Shaw and Wife Carrrie, Gage Gregory and Fiance Haley, Logan and Haven Gregory, Kylie Womeldorff and Fiance Gary, Kelsi and Zach Womeldorff, Jordyn and Jadyn Burch, Avayhann Skeens, Layla Critchfield and Zayden Toothman. Two Great Great Grandchildren Michael and Carolina Shaw. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Lora Mae was the last surviving member of her immediate family having been proceeded in death by Sisters Marguerite (Otto) Strader, Maggie Bender, Blanche Morgan and Brothers Edward "Tink"  (Wilma) Gower, Harold Parker Jr, Raymond Everet, William, and Coy Gower. Also by her daughter Linda Dye and Granddaughter Shana Hufford.

Lora was a member of the Wilsonburg EUB Church and last attended Word of Life Assembly of God Church. She previously worked for Ellis Brothers and Kiddie Corner. Her greatest Joy in life were her children and grandchildren. She had much compassion for others by opening her home and heart to anyone in need. Cooking Sunday dinners for her family and friends were a constant up until she could not cook anymore. She will be greatly missed by her family and countless others.

Family will receive friends at Davis Funeral Home, 124 Olen Thomas Dr., Clarksburg, on Thursday, January, 25, 2018 from 2:00 – 8:00 pm; Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel of Davis Funeral Home on Friday, January 26, 2018 at 11:00am with Pastor Brian Plum presiding. Interment will follow at McWhorter Cemetery.
